Despite poor weather conditions outside Cardiff Canton Songsters visit to Morriston for a Saturday evening festival saw a capacity congregation eagerly awaiting their music and ministry.
Entering the hall to music by Morriston Band the Songsters opened with ‘God of My Praise’ and ‘Breathe’ before prayer was offered. Songster Leader Christine Saunders had skilfully woven songs and scripture together under the chosen theme of the evening.
Songs of a wide variety of styles featured throughout the evening from Keith Griffin’s classic ‘All Creatures of Our God and King’, the modern ‘Father Creator’ and the toe tapping ‘Just Like John’.
Soloist Songsters Clare Keates and Scott Beynon offered ‘Somebody’s Prayin’ and ‘There Will Be God’ respectively.
In his testimony Chris Dimbleby spoke on how his friends had noticed a difference in him when his relationship with God had increased.
Contributions by Morriston Band included ‘The Pioneers’ and ‘Lord, Thou Art Questioning’.
The evening concluded with the affirmation that ‘We Are More Than Conquerors’.
