Singing Company Reunion 2015

SINGING COMPANY REMEMBERS

by Simon Richardson

Singing Company members from the 1990’s reunited at MORRISTON CITADEL to reminisce, reunite and present a festival at the corps.  Twelve former members were present throughout the afternoon to share fellowship and rehearse before the programme.  The evening was interspersed with DVD footage of the visit to L’Islet, Guernsey in 1995 which showed soloists, timbrels and drama.  Singing Company Leader of that day Jonathan Mead led those attending in a number of the songs of the era including ‘When He Cometh’, Does It Come from Tesco?’ (a song associated for many years with Harvest at the corps) and ‘I Love Jesus’.  A brass quintet presented ‘Just A Closer Walk’.  Prayers were offered for the victims of the terrorist attacks in Paris during the evening.  The evening concluded with the sparkling rendition of ‘Any Dream Will Do’.
