In Every Corner Sing

There’s just less than two weeks to go until our Songsters celebrate 75 years of their formation. For our Anniversary Weekend we are being joined by Belfast Temple Band (Norhtern Ireland), Clydebank Citadel Songsters (Scotland) and Bristol Easton Songsters (England) along with our leaders for the weekend Lieutenant-Colonels Anthony & Gillian Cotterill from UK Territotial Headquarters in London.

Never before has an event of this size and magnitude been attempted in Wales before so it promises to be a unique occassion as four groups (comprsing a total of 130 musicians) from all corners of the UK converge on Swansea.

Join us as we celebrate on Satuiday 12th May at St. Mary’s Church in Swansea city centre (SA1 3LP). The programme for the day is as follows;

1.00pm – SP&S Roadshow – The Salvation Army Trade Department bring their Roadshow to the event bringing a range of recording, printed music, books, uniforms and accessories.

1.30pm – FREE OUTDOOR CONCERTS – relax and enjoy the music in the grounds of St. Mary’s as all our visiting groups present a 30 minute programme of music. (1.30pm – Morrisotn Citadel Band, 2.00pm – Clydebank Citadel Songsters, 2.30pm – Belfast Temple Band, 3.00pm Bristol Easton Songsters).

7.30pm – IN EVERY CORNER SING (Admission £10.00) – A gala concert with our three visiting groups supported by  Morriston Citadel Songsters in the presence of local and civic dignitaries. The concert will feature individual contributions from all the groups before they join together to create one united choir.

The weekend continues on Sunday 13th May as we join together in worship at our hall in Morfydd Street, Morriston (SA6 8VN) under the leadership of our weekend leaders and Belfast Temple Band supported by Morriston Citadel Songsters.

10.00am – All-Age Family Worship

2.00pm – Celebration Festival

Clydebank Citadel Songstes coninue their weekend in the area by leading worship at Llanelli Salvation Army located in Sunninghill Terrace (SA15 3DQ). Meetings at Llanelli are at 10.00am and 2.00pm.
