Well he did it, Matthew sends his personal thanks below for those who supported, sponsored and encouraged him in his 2016 London Marathon effort.
‘A final massive thank you to everyone who has sponsored and supported me over the last 4 months. After a successful auction evening last night, the final total money raised for the Salvation Army is approx £4750 with sponsors still coming in. This is a lot more than I could have dreamt of raising and it will go a long way in helping the Army with the great work it does for the needy. My friends and family have been amazing and I will be forever grateful. I also thank God for giving me this opportunity and getting me through unscathed.
A special thank you to Richmond Park School who raised a phenomenal amount, as well as Leigh Halfpenny and Jess Tumelty, Eli Walker, Scott Williams, Liam Sanjay Williams and Steffon Armitage who were kind enough to donate amazing memorabilia for last night’s auction which made all the difference. Also to Derek Protheroe and Joe Parkhouse who helped me get to the start line after an injury scare with a week to go!
It has all been an amazing experience and one I will appreciate forever!’
